2024 NC-PC Headworks Analysis (HWA) Training

The North Carolina Pretreatment Consortium Certification Board is offering a training workshop for those responsible for conducting a Headworks Analysis for their municipality. The HWA workshop will consist of six classes (minimum 6 hours each class) held every two – three weeks. The HWA training will be hands on, and participants will be responsible for performing assignments using their town’s actual data and information. The HWA workshop is real world training using each town’s individual data to perform headworks calculations. Students will learn how to perform headworks calculations for their POTW but will not leave class with a completed headworks. There is no exam or “certification”.

School Location: All classes will be held at the Village Inn and Conference Center, Clemmons, NC.
Each applicant is responsible for making their hotel arrangements, if needed.

Class Dates/Times: Class 1:July 9; Class 2: July 30; Class 3: Aug 13; Class 4: Aug 27; Class 5: Sept 10; Class 6: Oct 1
Each class will begin at 8am with breaks and a one-hour lunch break. Classes will end after 3pm.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Application and Documentation Must be Submitted No Later Than May 31, 2024.
Registration Fee: NC-PC Member: $500 | Non-member: $600

Registration is open only to POTW staff that are responsible for their POTW’s HWA submittal and have at least 12 Influent data points and 12 Effluent data points for Zinc, Selenium, Arsenic, CBOD, TSS, and Ammonia. Students are required to attend all classes. Class capacity will be limited due to the complexity of the subject. Students will be accepted based on proximity of Headworks Analysis due date.

Registration fees will be invoiced once class eligibility is determined.
